Critical Reflection on Organizational Direction and Culture at Playground Poker

Dear Executive Leadership at Playground Poker,

After several attempts to escalate critical issues ranging from discrimination to direct confrontations by employees in front of patrons, and other systemic concerns, it has become evident that the path to resolution within your organization is fraught with obstacles. These experiences have not only been disappointing but have also reinforced my perspective on the significant shift in Playground Poker’s operational and ethical stance.

The irony of my past open dialogues with high-level executives in other organizations, including a productive two-hour conversation with Edward Joseph Shoen, CEO of AMERCO, starkly contrasts with the apparent inaccessibility and indifference exhibited by Playground Poker's executive team. This contrast paints a troubling picture of a leadership team perhaps too ensconced in their priorities to address genuine customer concerns.

The handling of my last communication has further solidified my view that Playground Poker, an organization that once prided itself on being built "by players for players," seems to have strayed far from its roots. The evidence suggests a pivot towards prioritizing expansion and tapping into new segments at the cost of neglecting the very principles of quality and customer care that presumably defined its foundation.

At this juncture, urging action seems futile given the demonstrated reluctance to engage in meaningful dialogue or to acknowledge the depth of the issues presented. The trajectory of Playground Poker, as it diverts from its founding ethos towards a seemingly endless pursuit of growth via new ventures and client bases, leaves much to be desired in terms of systemic quality and the prioritization of customer concerns. The sustainability of such growth, in the absence of addressing these fundamental flaws, remains questionable.

As Playground Poker continues on its chosen path, diverging further from the values it once championed, the implications of such decisions on its long-term reputation and customer loyalty will undoubtedly unfold in time. My hope is that a reflection on these matters might one day redirect the organization towards the principles it once held dear. Until then, I can only observe the evolution of Playground Poker with a mix of disappointment and hope for a return to its original ideals.

Best of luck in your future endeavors, and may the foundation upon which Playground Poker was built not be entirely forgotten in pursuit of new ambitions.
